Beginning in January 2009, Marvel Comics will begin a year-long celebration of its historic 70th Anniversary !

From special collections to commemorative covers beginning with Marko Djurdjevic's stunning variant to Captain America #46, fans everywhere will be saying « Make Mine Marvel » … and « Make Mine '39 » !

Marvel Comics is proud to announce that in honor of Wolverine's 35th anniversary, numerous Marvel Comics' titles will feature « Wolverine Art Appreciation » variant covers in April 2009, as part of Wolverine Art Appreciation month.

In the tradition of Marvel Comics' previous variant cover programs, featuring everything from villains to zombies to monkeys, select Marvel Comics' titles will feature variant covers spotlighting the most popular X-Man through a unique lens ! Inspired by some of the world's greatest artists, these variant covers depict Wolverine like you've never seen him before, in styles reminiscent of Gustav Klimt, Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, René Magritte, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichenstein and more !

Marvel Comics is proud to unveil the unprecedented 70th Anniversary « Decade » variant covers, celebrating the coolest and most controversial fashions, music and cultural quirks from last 7 decades.

Each of these unique variant covers is guaranteed to make you smile - where else are you gonna see War Machine grunging out on Fender Jaguar ? Or Rogue vogue-ing it up ? The 1990s and 1980s take center stage when the 70th Anniversary « Decade » variant covers make their sensational debut !

Year 2009 marks Marvel Comics' 70th Anniversary, and to celebrate this August, all ongoing Marvel Comics series will have a 70th Anniversary variant cover. Featuring a frame by superstar artist Jimmy Cheung, these 70th Anniversary « Frame » variant covers will also feature an iconic shot of a Marvel Comics character from that title by another of Marvel Comics' talented superstar artists.
