Initially created as a continuation of the Actualités bookstore located at 38 rue Dauphine - 75006 Paris, it's been operational since June 19, 2007. To learn more about the company, you can also go to http://www.libractua.fr. You'll find photos of a store that has undeniable charm, but which, unfortunately, no longer exists. From now on, the company Actualités, Books & Comics SARL seeks to reconcile this identity with certain unavoidable 21st century obligations.
Back when the world was turning into one vast global commerce, Pierre Scias deliberately chose to walk the non-profit path. Independence was his « raison d'être ». As an anarchist and opposed to the kind of neo-capitalism that's now showing its true face, he dreamed of a different world. A rare quality - and a difficult position that doesn't lend itself to compromise. It goes without saying that Actualités will take the same hard route. Independent of major publishers, its preference for artisans of all walks of life, its freedom of choice, its ecclecticism and its relentless curiosity all go towards creating its unique identity.
